Canvas (of No Fiction) - 4-D (Music Video)

Drift into 4-D!!!

Here's the release of Canvas from No Fiction' first solo music video off his 2014 mixtape "Unfinished Business". When Canvas approached me to shoot this video the first thing I asked is "What is 4-D?" he told me "4-D is the dimension after 3-D which is typically called Time"

The concept we decided to convey was one of getting lost in the studio while time and space moves around you.

I was real excited to use our color filters to create the original lighting setup and to also be able to have the band play live in the video. (Clip of live performance below)

If you would like to hear Canvas "Unfinished Business" Mixtape you can download it here or stream it on Soundcloud. You can also follow him on Twitter @ItstheCanvas

New Short Film: Powers (Teaser)

Lately I haven't kept my word on updating this blog as much as I had wanted to. Back in December I was finishing up a Documentary for Nagchampa (Lowaletta) (which I will be writing about in a separate post), editing a music video for Canvas (which should be release soon) and I spontaneously decided to start writing.

What came from this was "Powers". In the last few months I had been working on music videos and documentaries while working on a script for the "Basketball Friends Movie", but this process was taking a while and I had noticed alot of people asking me when I was gonna be shooting a new film.

Writing Powers was very fun and an exercise in trying to work through the most creative ambitious ideas I could think of and challenge myself to finish it in one sitting. The script was written one night after work in about an hour and a half. The next day we casted all our main actors and I began to plan a schedule of when we could begin shooting.

I'll share the rest of the story at another time. But for now enjoy the 1st look at one of my most ambitious films yet. I never saw myself working on a sci-fi film but I think people will love the approach I took to make the genre my own. Im more than half way done editing now and I want to be done this month (February) and start screening it locally while sending it off to festivals.

This project has inspired me. Taking such ambitious mental images and bringing them into reality was extremely rewarding and I want to keep this momentum going through 2015 with more new films!
